Being a Christian doesn’t change the fact that sometimes, life is hard. St Matthew recognizes that individuals and families have different needs at different times/stages in their life. St Matthew provides services to help, through Pastoral Care, Counseling, and Coaching.
How do you know when to connect with which ministry?
Pastoral Care: Judy Madden, Minister - You are in a time of crisis! The Pastoral Care Team wants you to call upon their members. It could be hospitalization, losing a loved one, needing some support, encouragement, and prayer. Or for extended times of grief, long-term care needs, and hospice, our Stephen Ministries & Grief Share groups are trained and ready to walk with you. 817-447-4131
Pastoral Counseling: Mather Owen, BBA, BD, MTH - A retired pastor is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, has years of counseling experience in private and non-profit settings. Mather provides pastoral counseling and support for children, adolescents, families and couples struggling with a variety of life-living issues, such as:
Family Violence
Depression
Poor Communications Skills
Infidelity
Marital Conflict
Anger Management
Dementia
And a variety of issues related to alcohol, drugs, and pornography.
As a pastor in the professional field Mather served as Chief Chaplain in Psychiatric Hospitals for 34 years, was adjunct field supervisor for Southern Methodist University, Perkins School of Theology, a Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor and is expertly trained in Staff Professional Growth and Development, individual and group counseling with persons struggling with different symptoms of mental illness and behavioral disorders. He knows the benfits of couples and individual counseling, because he has done it himself.
