Our Commitment To Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.
The Information We Collect:
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the St. Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church website. On some pages, you can register as a user of our system, request information about the church or upcoming events, or register for events. Certain registered users may also submit information for publication, make requests for membership in a small group, post prayer requests, and other information relevant to the operation of the church.
The types of personal information collected at these pages may include:
Name
Address
Email address
Phone number
Information to be posted on the web or in the church bulletin
Information relative to a specific small group or other kind of group
In the process of developing content for the website, we may collect (or have submitted to us) photographs of groups and individuals involved in church activities. Stories or accounts of the activities, including testimonies, may also be submitted.
The Way We Use Information:
We use the information you provide about yourself only for reasonable church business. We do not share this information with outside parties.
We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.
From time to time, you may be able to register on our website for certain e-mail lists (list services). We will send e-mail to that address for relevant church business only. You always have the opportunity to unsubscribe to any list by sending an email to that list with the word “unsubscribe” in the subject line. Please be careful to spell “unsubscribe” correctly or the request will fail.
Like most websites, we collect “traffic” information such as time and date, pages visited, and IP address from web site visitors. We use this information in a non-identifying and aggregate manner to better design our website. Unless required by legal authorities, we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.
We may use cookies to ensure the proper functionality of the website.
Stories and photos of individuals and groups involved in church activities may be collected for use on the website. We will make every effort to ensure that these are not used in a way that is embarrassing to the individuals involved and we will respond immediately to remove such material if there is an objection to it.
Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us for any purpose other than those related to operating the church.
Public and Non-Public Use of Information
Some of the information you submit to the website may be made public. For example, if you use the site to submit announcements for the bulletin, you will have the option to specify that they are also available on the web. As a result, the contact information you provide will be posted on the website.
Some of the information you submit to the website will be made available only to authorized users. For example, neighborhood small groups have spaces within their website to post study materials, agenda items, prayer requests and other information related to the operation of the small group. This information will be available to all registered users of the system who are noted as members of the small group and may also be available to leaders who have pastoral responsibility over the group.
Images and Photographs are for the sole use of St. Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church and are not for reprint or any other use.
Our Commitment To Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
Our Commitment To Children's Privacy:
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13.
In order to protect children, we will not post full names, addresses, or phone numbers of minors. First names and initials may be used. Photos of groups of children participating in events occurring in public places may be posted from time to time.
