Worship Ministry

  • Guest Services

St. Matthew Church has some very incredible servants who dedicate a few hours of their time on Sundays to serve others. Guest Services is made up of people who help, both inside and outside the building, who park, seat, greet and provide information to guests. The goal of Guest Services is to make attendees feel welcome and comfortable so that when they arrive in the Sanctuary or Arc, they may focus on the message from God.

If you would like to volunteer please contact Karen Harris at ksharris55@aol.com

  • The Worship Team:

Do you ever wonder who bakes the bread and pours the juice for communion? Who decorates the church at Easter and Christmas? Who prepares the altar with the colors for each liturgical season? Who takes care of the Prayer Station set up and candles? Oversees the Acolyte Program? Yes, the Worship Team!

The Worship Team is a family of people dedicated to letting the glory of the Lord shine through the preparation of worship. If you would like more information or would like to serve with the Worship Team, email: Lisa Latham at LLatham@stmattcpc.org

SALT Team

The Sound Audio-Visual Lighting Technology Team is a mouthful! Now you see why we take the liberty of the abbreviation of SALT!

The SALT team is made up of the ‘behind the scenes’ servants that work to bring you the Word of God, the Vision of God, the feel of the message, through the sermon presentation of audio, visual, lighting and technology, through:

    Camera techs
    Spot light techs
    Presentation/Visual Tech
    Sound Techs
    Lighting Techs

A sub team of the SALT team is the CD/DVD Ministry. This dedicated crew puts out the audio CD of the sermon each week. St. Matthew has sent CD’s literally around the world, to people in England, Africa, Germany, Canada and other countries as well.

The Photography Team serves by taking photos of our new members when they join St. Matthew and takes candids at our many functions, as well.

Worship Times and Styles

St. Matthew has 5 services to allow as many people to attend as possible.

     SATURDAY
     6pm in ARC (Contemporary)

     SUNDAY
     8:15am in Sanctuary (Traditional)
     9:30am in ARC (Contemporary)
     11am in ARC (Contemporary)
     11am in Sanctuary (Traditional)
                                   (live feed)

St. Matt is a come as you are kind of church. It is more important that you get to know Jesus through a personal relationship than whether or not you have this year’s style of boots!

That being said, you may feel more comfortable knowing what each service is like.

Saturday is laid back, easy going, a rock band, with low light venue. You may light candles at the prayer stations any time you feel led.

Sunday at 8:15 and 11am in the Sanctuary you may feel more comfortable in casual or business dress clothes. The 9:30am Contemporary Service is held in the ARC. In this large gathering It is common to see a mixture of attire, from dress clothes to jeans and a tee shirt.

Stage Team/Needs

As we feel led to make Worship more relevant with more stage presence, we are always in need of help in the SALT team and our new Stage Team.

The Stage team serves to help make the stage a more engaging venue which represents the message, so that the message can be heard, seen and experienced by the congregation. Carpentry and imagination are the only skills needed.
